About Us

Based out of Youngstown, Ohio, Millstone & Kannensohn has represented creditors and other civil litigants throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania for over fifty years. The firm has the pleasure of representing a wide array of clients including small businesses, skilled traders, medical providers, financial institutions, rental property managers and owners, and governmental entities. 


Millstone & Kannensohn strictly follows all state and federal consumer collection laws, including but not limited to, FDCPA, FCRA, and TCPA.

Fredric A. Kannensohn, Esq.

Fred has been protecting creditors' rights throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania for decades and was instrumental in the drafting and passage of Ohio's continuous wage garnishment law and numerous other Ohio legislation relative to creditors' rights on behalf of the Ohio State Bar Association. He has served as Special Counsel to the Attorney General of Ohio for over 20 years. He has been awarded the highest rating (AV) by the national legal directory firm of Martindale-Hubbell.


Fred is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association (Banking, Bankruptcy, and Commercial Law Committee and Chairman of its Subcommittee on Provisional Remedies and Execution of Judgments), Mahoning County Bar Association, and Ohio Creditor's Attorneys Association (President).


Education: Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania (B.S.); University of Michigan School of Law (J.D.).

Samuel F. Jordan, Esq.

Sam oversees the firm's litigation department where he handles a wide range of civil disputes. A significant part of Sam's practice focuses on helping creditors protect their interests and resolve conflicts efficiently. Sam applies a practical, results-driven approach and works with clients to find effective solutions prior to litigation. When litigation is necessary, Sam provides strong advocacy backed by experience and a clear understanding of client goals.


Sam is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Mahoning County Bar Association, Trumbull County Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and Ohio Creditor's Attorneys Association.


Education: Kent State University (B.A.); Case Western Reserve University School of Law (J.D.).
